Children’s Services

Nursery Care is provided for children from infancy up to 2+ years old during worship and church school hours.

Voyage into DiscipleSHIP is for children from Kindergarten through 5th graders, and meets during the Sunday School hour 9:30 - 10:30 on the third floor (south).  A rotation model Sunday School focusing on one topic taught five different ways and using multiple intelligences for maximum retention is used; oh and did we mention it is SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!  Singing, cooking, computers, science, art, storytelling, and even games are just some of the regular activities we enjoy!

Worship and Wonder is for children who are 5 years old through 2nd grade. Children Worship and Wonder is a worship service tailored to this age group which includes, opening, prayer, storytelling, response time, scripture, offering, feast and closing. A format similar to regular worship is followed to let children worship and learn so they are better prepared to integrate into adult worship. Children Worship and Wonder is held every Sunday except for Family Sundays, which are usually scheduled when the Logos Choir is singing in 10:45 worship. All children between 5 years old and 2nd grade are welcome to worship with us in the chapel.

Logos (log’ os) is a ministry that provides in-depth and well-rounded Christian nurture for the children in grades transition through fifth. The Wednesday afternoon program is a combination of Bible study, recreation, choir and dinner. It meets from 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. throughout the school year.

Logos Choir and Logos Hand Chimes for more information, these are described on the Music page.

Summer Church Camps are available to children who have completed the second grade and older. Partial scholarships for camps are made available by the church and details are available at the church office.

Vacation Church School, a five-day vacation school for children ages 4-12, is held during summer vacation.

Pastor’s Class meets on Wednesday afternoon during Logos. The Pastor’s class offers a study of church membership, baptism, communion, and discipleship. Targeted to fifth graders, but also open to youth, many participating in the Pastor’s Class will choose to make their profession of faith and be baptized.
